Agenda
Minutes to October 15th Meeting
Library Policies & Procedures - draft 11/09/2011 - we will be voting on new policies for our Library
Program Details
1. Tag Sale - bring lace-related items to sell or trade.
2. Starting IOLI stars - Carolyn will have patterns for tatted and bobbin lace stars. People should bring their own thread (white and/or silver). For tatting, size 20 or finer. Easy pattern. For bobbin lace, equivalent to DMC machine broder 50 (basic sewing thread weight): 7 pairs passives with 1 yard per bobbin, and 1 worker pair with 2 yards per bobbin. The bobbin lace star is about 3 inches across and involves basic lacemaking materials, 0.55 mm pins best weight. Advanced-beginner pattern with only a few sewings. Persons can choose to donate their stars to the Minnesota group for the IOLI convention, or keep them.
3. "Threads make the lace" project introduction. Carolyn will distribute patterns and describe project. The goal is to have a set of lace pieces made from the same pattern but in diverse threads, to demonstrate the effect of thread on final product. Lace will be
photographed and posted on the website for public education.
If you can not attend and would like more information on the Starts and Threads projects, please contact Carolyn at NELGPrograms@gmail.com
Look forward to seeing you there.
